Suffering can transform a person into the loveliest of souls. I have to believe that our pain means something. That we learn something. Otherwise, what is the point? Its human nature to find hope in a hopeless situation. Our strength of character is proven in our refusal to give up. Our struggles are our own. Every day we are the best version of ourselves that we are capable of being. Somedays, we are just glad to wake up and breathe air into our lungs.
The past few years have been the most difficult in my personal life. A lot of growth, a lot of learning. Mostly painful, but oh so necessary. I have used butterflies for their transformative metaphor quite a bit this year. I told myself I do one last design concept, then move on. This is the butterflies swansong, her last hurrah for the time being. But oh, how lovely this darkling is.
One of a Kind. The Swarovski used are a custom green/blue opal to match the ocean blue eyes and cannot be recreated (I don't have any more of the crystals I used for the drop). If you notice in the last pics the chain is attached in two differ
The butterfly skulls are hand-carved by a Balinese master carver in buffalo bone.
