Before the brood took shape, there was her 
Arachne, the Dreamweaver.
She spins myth into metal, memory into thread. Her polished limbs wrap around a thorax of rainbow fluorite, banded in spectral light. Her many eyes are hollow and watchful, formed from polished sterling alone — unblinking, eternal.
She is the matriarch. The architect. The beginning of the weave.

Spun in the edges of wild places, spiderlings stir in the branches and brambles.
